Study Finds AI Can Replace Nearly 12% of Workers
CoStar November 30, 2025 reported on a study by MIT that artificial intelligence is now able to replace 11.7% of the U.S. labor market. This is The Project Iceberg Project Iceberg – Coordinating the Human-AI Future which focuses on 151 million working Americans and projects 13,741 workers apparently can or will be replaced by AI, if I cam reading this correctly. “Effects could resonate across all 50 states as lawmakers prepare for an AI-enhanced future with planned investments in education and training to prepare workers, researchers said. Others could follow the example of Tennessee, where officials in November issued an action plan calling for increased AI-related workforce preparation to be combined with existing efforts that support development of job-creating data centers and related technology projects.” a new study out of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is sure to add fuel to the fire. Analyzing 151 million American workers, the researchers calculated that today’s AI systems are already mature enough to automate the tasks of more than 20 million American workers” Futurism, 12/1/25 . There was also an article in Forbes May 27, 2025 titled “AI Will Create Far More Jobs Than It Will Kill”. “The World Economic Forum predicts that AI will create 78 million jobs, even after job losses are factored in. So, working the math and going with aggregated and widely-accepted estimations that for every job killed by AI three or four will be created, we come to this: 78 million is the WEF’s net number, bringing us to 100 million or more, gross.” What do you think?
