Artificial Intelligence Will Make Many Of Our Lives Better, and Lead to Unemployment For Others

And in July, the founder of an e-commerce startup said he laid off 90% of his support team. The common reason cited? You guessed it: artificial intelligence. Goldman Sachs economists have estimated that 300 million full-time jobs across the globe could be automated in some way by the newest wave of AI, with up to a quarter of all jobs being completely done by AI.” (source: CNN Sept.5, 2023) Many legal tasks will be automated. Software engineers report being able to work 55% quicker using AI. Lives will be extended and saved through AI. In a positive sign for office space due to Artificial Intelligence, Anthropic, and AI firm, may be subleasing 230,000 sf off office space at 500 Howard St. in San Francisco, former Slack headquarters. And on June 30, 2023 Tech.co reported “Accenture is poised to invest $3 billion in AI tech after laying off 19,000 employees earlier this year. The real reason behind mass tech layoffs is becoming more and more obvious, as Accenture has announced a significant investment in AI tech after cutting a substantial percentage of its workforce” Accenture is spending $1.2 billion on severance and $300 million to consolidate its office space. Overall, and just my opinion, AI is going to be immensely detrimental to the world-wide office market…
